Taking place on the beach off the Chance A La Mer access road in downtown Ocean Shores. There will be a Lighted Kite Fly friday night, and saturday will have the Kid’s Kite Making, Running of the Bowls, and Mass Ascensions events.

The Grays Harbor Festival of Colors in Ocean Shores is where kite fans want to be. Did you know you can fly a kite in Ocean Shores 365 days per year? The wind here is ideal for kite flyers and there will be all sizes and shapes of them in the sky for viewers and flyers to enjoy. Grays Harbor Festival of Colors is the premier kite festival on the west coast. This event is made for kite fliers of all skill levels with special events for kids. In the past we have had kite fliers coming from as far away as India, Canada, and many from the western United States.

Everyone from novice to professional kite flyers will line the beaches of Ocean Shores to have fun, show off unique kites, and flying skills.

Thursday, June 4th

• 9 AM Single line and Event kite field set up.
• Sea Creature themed kite fly.
• Kite flying demos.

Friday, June 5th

• Arches and Train themed fly.
• Kite flying demos.
• At Dusk Lighted kite fly.

Saturday, June 6th

• Fighter Kite Demos/Lessons
• 10:00am to 2:00pm Kids Kite Making. First 200 kids get to make a kite, to take and fly.
• 11:00am Mass Ascension #1: Flat/Bowed or Soft Kites. An event pin will be given out to the first 25 registered participants. Judges will determine the top 3 kites flown and award a special limited-edition pin.
• 12:00 Noon Running of the BOLS
• 1:00pm Mass Ascension #2: Delta or Cellular Kites. An event pin will be given out to the first 25 registered participants. Judges will determine the top 3 kites flown and award a special limited-edition pin.

Sunday, June 7th

• Fighter Kite Demos/Lessons
• 10:00am Mass Ascension #3: Patriotic Kites. An event pin will be given out to the first 25 registered participants. Judges will determine the top 3 kites flown and award a special limited-edition pin.
